Govt. Swami Atmanand Post Graduate College, Narayanpur (C. G.) was established on 14 Sept. 1988 as adiwasi vikas yojana by the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh under department. of higher education. An Undergraduate Arts faculty co-education college starting with 10 students from Jan-pad building and under the name of Government College, Which is affiliated to Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, The College got registered under section 2f and 12B of UGC Act in the year 1992. At the time of its inception the total number of regular students enrolled in the discipline of Arts only 157. Narayanpur College to provide higher education in this backward & rural area (Abuzmand Tribal Zone) of the Chhattisgarh state. From the academic year 2001-02 the Bachelor Degree Program in Commerce & year 2005-06 Science is also being run.
